Trauma Informed care

The Violence Intervention Project works with young people up to the age of 25 who have been, or are at risk of becoming, involved in violent behaviour.

Through therapeutic outreach work and practical support, we enable people up to the age of 25 to break out of a vicious cycle of violence and crime.

Our team is AMBIT trained, Shame Informed and have weekly clinical supervision in the form of both group and individual supervision. We aim to create attuned relationships through consistency, trust and confidentiality.

As professionals Trauma Informed Practice is key for us to fully understand and respond to the impact of trauma.

Through Trauma Informed Practice we aim to help young people feel safe enough in their interactions with our services. To build trust, and help people overcome their fear and sense of betrayal. This comes through addressing the barriers that those affected can experience when accessing our support that they require. To discuss a referral please contact referrals@vip.org.uk
